  Benefits of Membership

Northwest Neighbors Village is open and operating! Though we are practicing safe physical distancing, we're "virtually" more socially connected than ever before. We invite you to join our community of mutual support and engagement.

Northwest Neighbors Village is a member-driven organization that has been adjusting to the interests and needs of our members since opening our doors in 2009. In response to the current pandemic, NNV is creating guidelines and safety protocols in accordance with local and federal recommendations to prepare for gradually and safely navigating our future with COVID-19.

  • Community Connections and Volunteer Support: Members and volunteers are staying connected. Through frequent phone calls and Zoom chats, members report feeling a part of a caring community and are not isolated or alone. Members receive individualized services from a dedicated community of volunteers who are screened, trained, and supported by our professional team.
  • Social, Cultural, and Wellness Programs: When the pandemic began, our Village quickly adapted.  Volunteers were at the ready to help members solve technology challenges, ensuring all members have access to participate in the online world. Members enjoy an array of online programs, including gentle yoga, jazz concerts, social chats, support groups, and educational programs. Members constitute the heart of our mission and we invite members to help shape our future programming.
  • Access Our Robust Network of Resources: Confused about social distancing? Having trouble mastering Instacart? Need a recommendation for a good movie or book? NNV can help with all of these things! Members have access to our private listserv, professional service provider referrals, professional case management, and exclusive and timely communication.

We are currently offering the following Volunteer Services during the Coronavirus Pandemic:

  • Rides with no limitations on destination
  • Contactless grocery shopping or in-person grocery store trips
  • Tech support
  • Simple home repair
  • Socially distanced walks and friendly visits
  • Yard work

Choosing the Right Type of Membership

Northwest Neighbors Village offers different membership types depending on services desired as well as income level. The primary difference between the membership levels is access to volunteer services including rides to medical appointments, tech support, and friendly visits.

Please consider the following when choosing which type you’d like to apply for:

  • Supporting Membership: is for those who wish to support our mission as well as participate in NNV’s exclusive educational and social programming. Supporting members may also access our vetted vendors list. Your membership fee is considered a donation and is tax deductible less $50.
Note: Supporting members cannot receive services from volunteers or our short term social work case manager, however, supporting members can upgrade to full membership at any time.
  • Full Membership: is for those who wish to participate in NNV's education and social programs AND receive access to our volunteer services and short term social work case manager. Full members also have access to our vetted vendors list.
  • Full Membership Plus: is for those who wish to receive all volunteer services and benefits available to full members as listed above and who qualify by income for the reduced membership rate. (We do not consider total assets, such as home ownership.)
  • Three month trial for Full or Plus Membership: is for those wishing to try out a full membership with NNV for a limited time. Three month trial full members are eligible to receive all services and benefits available to full members as listed above.

Please note: Full Members should live within our catchment area - click here to see a map.
(This is not a requirement for Supporting Members).
