Summer may be coming to an end but NNV’s programming is heating up. In addition to our robust calendar of events, NNV will offer a few special events and will be out and about in the community. We hope you will join us for some - or all - of our upcoming activities.

Virtual Speaker Series is Back on September 8th – We are so fortunate to live in an area that is home to numerous dynamic and informed individuals. Several have offered to share their expertise and insights in a series of talks. Plan to join us for one or all of these discussions, which are designed to engage and inform you. NNV's Speaker Series is offered to all members and is free of charge to the community. Click here to see our list of upcoming speakers.

Senior Hour at Politics and Prose, September 14th at 9:00 a.m. – NNV is partnering with Politics and Prose to offer a Senior Hour at our beloved neighborhood bookstore. P&P staff will be on hand to offer a tour of the store, help locate an item, and offer book recommendations. NNV executive director Stephanie Chong will be there to share information about NNV and buy a book or two.  At 10:00 a.m., you are invited to meet Stephanie at The Den on the lower level for coffee and conversation.

NNV Full Members can call the office at 202-935-6060 to request a volunteer ride or to make a request for a volunteer to pick up your purchased book and bring it to your home. We hope to see you there!

Chevy Chase Day is on September 17th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Join your neighbors at the Chevy Chase Community Center for a fun and festive afternoon outdoors. Our very own Mayu Suzuki will be there to offer a free 30-minute in-person Gentle Yoga class at 2:00 p.m. Come and celebrate with family, friends, local organizations and businesses. Be sure to stop by NNV’s table. We look forward to seeing you there!

Annual End of the Summer Picnic is on September 23r at 12:00 p.m. – There's no better way to bid summer farewell than time spent with your neighbors and friends.  Members, volunteers, family, and friends are invited Claridge Park (Candy Cane Park, where we typically gather, is closed indefinitely due to flood damage).

This is our first picnic in person since 2019! We can’t wait to see everyone in person again and to meet our many new members and volunteers! Click here to learn more or to sign up. Full members can request a volunteer driver by calling the office at 202-935-6060.

Tenleytown Main Street’s Art All Night Returns on September 24th - Celebrate the visual and performing arts, showcasing the diverse talents of the city’s creative community. Experience art, music, dance, and more at Art All Night venues throughout Tenleytown. Be sure to stop by Iona Senior Services to enjoy art created by numerous local artists, including several NNV members! Visit Tenleytown Main Street’s website for more information or to volunteer.

Volunteer Orientation – If you’ve been considering becoming an NNV volunteer, now is the time!
