Help Older Adults Stay Engaged and Connected Regardless of Their Ability to Pay

Last year, the NNV board made a significant commitment to address equity at our Village. The board voted to waive the membership fee for older neighbors with low income. This was a critical step to break down barriers to accessing the services and programs that are critical to enable our members to remain connected and engaged to the community.

I’m delighted to share that since the policy has changed, NNV has welcomed 14 new members who are benefitting from our Membership Scholarship Fund. Now 50% of our members have their membership fees fully waived, a value of $19,200. Next week, Northwest Neighbors Village will participate in the Home Instead Foundation's Give65 Campaign. Over a 65-hour period from July 12-15, NNV will raise funds for our Membership Scholarship Fund. Your gift of any amount will make a difference!

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 and take home up to $5,000 in matching grants provided by Home Instead Charities. Matching grants always go fast, so we’d love for you to make your gift right at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12 in order to increase the odds of doubling your gift.  Please be on the lookout next week for information on how to participate in this important campaign.

If you have any questions or need assistance making your donation, please feel free to reach out to our office at schong@nnvdc.org or call 202-935-6060.

Thank you in advance for your generous support!
