Carolina Kenrick is NNV's 2024 Volunteer of the Year!

Bulletin Board

Carolina Kenrick is NNV's 2024 Volunteer of the Year!

At the close of every year, we ask our members to submit nominations for our annual Volunteer of the Year award, and every year the most frequent responses are something like:

"Every volunteer that I have met has been wonderful! The whole volunteer team should be noted for their kindness and willingness to help others."

"This is almost impossible for me! Every wonderful person who has given me rides has been superb. I will think more about this and maybe nominate all of them! I think of these volunteers as my friends. THANK YOU!"

It really is a challenge to identify one volunteer who stands out among our many caring and dedicated volunteers. However, we always manage to notice someone who goes above and beyond. We are thrilled to announce the 2024 NNV Volunteer of the Year - Carolina Kenrick! Carolina started volunteering with us in February 2023 and, despite leading a busy life, has provided almost 250 services since then! Carolina has walked dogs and helped out at our events, but her favorite service is driving. Carolina has driven all over the city and beyond. She’s been happy to jump in for last minute emergencies when available, and she loves meeting new members. In Carolina’s words, "I’m ready to go whenever/wherever I have the time for whoever needs a ride." Carolina provides outstanding, selfless service to our members and always does so with her warm smile and positive attitude. Members say "she is always ready and willing to help" and is "so very thoughtful".

We have so many incredible volunteers creating a competitive pool for this special honor each year. Nominees for the 2024 Volunteer of the Year include: David Cohen, Shanti Conly, Susan Crawford, Morgan Gopnik, Cynthia Grant, Merilee Janssen, Carolina Kenrick, Anne Litchfield, Janean Mann, Stephen Mink, Sal Selvaggio, and Elinor Stillman.

Our sincerest thanks to our members for submitting nominations. Carolina joins the ranks of five past Volunteers of the Year, including our inaugural awardee Janean Mann, Sal Selvaggio, Merilee Janssen, Vin Rocque, and Morgan Gopnik. Congratulations Carolina!

With gratitude to all of our dedicated volunteers and wonderful members,
Stephanie, Heather and Leslie

P.S. Start the new year right. Apply to become an NNV volunteer. Once your application is reviewed, you will be invited to the next volunteer orientation scheduled in January.
