A Peek at 2026

As the year draws to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt holiday wishes and deep gratitude to our Village community. Whether you are a member, volunteer, or donor, your unique contributions help NNV strengthen and support our community. As we move into the new year, we invite you to continue your participation. Here are some exciting things to look forward to:

  • New Programming and Beloved Favorites – We are diligently working on new Virtual Speaker Series programs and Know Your Options informative programs for 2026. Keep an eye out for more information on these free programs that are open to the broader community. We encourage our members to check out perennial favorites like Gentle Yoga, Coping with Uncertainty, and BINGO. Our popular Men's Lunch will return in January, as will our Racial Equity Book Club. Stay tuned for more information about our plans to celebrate Valentine's Day, as well as a February Tea at Strathmore. .

  • Responding to Our City's Older Adults – Since our inception, NNV has been adapting our programs and services to meet the needs of older adults in our community. Today is no different. NNV's reach extends beyond our local community. Our Village is working closely with the DC Villages Collaborative (DCVC) on advocacy efforts to strengthen services for older adults citywide. Stay tuned on how you can help!

  • Continued Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion – We know we can do a better job of fulfilling our mission when the demographics of our Village reflect that of our community. In 2026, NNV will expand our reach by partnering with Friendship Place to provide volunteer services to formerly unhoused older adults. We are also partnering with the Capital Area Food Bank to assist with monthly food distribution at Regency House.

  • New Website and Gathering Space – Keep an eye out for our revamped website in the new year. The website will allow us to tell our story and invite more neighbors to participate in our Village. We are also working on securing a permanent space where members and neighbors can gather. Stay tuned for more information on these exciting new additions.

Thanks to you, we have much to look forward to in 2026! NNV board and staff extend our warmest greetings for a peaceful, happy, and healthy new year.

Kind regards,
Stephanie
