New retirees who are not yet a member or volunteer of Northwest Neighbors Village (NNV) are invited to learn more about our Village over coffee and pastries at the Avalon Theater Cafe - 5612 Connecticut Ave, NW - on Tuesday, April 8th at 11 am.
After retirement, NNV members and volunteers have found a sense of community through the Village. Many came to NNV to create a social network outside of the workplace, while others have joined to become more connected to their neighborhood after a career overseas. Regardless of the reason, involvement with NNV has been a great opportunity for our newly retired neighbors to make new friends and stay active and engaged.
If you are newly retired, your local Village has social, educational, and volunteer opportunities for you. We welcome you to share your time, talents and interests with us. Engage with your neighbors as a Supporting Member, volunteer to help your neighbors, start a club, teach a class, help plan or lead a local outing, or put your expertise to use through one of our Working Groups. At NNV, the opportunities to get involved are limitless!
"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interact with all these fascinating people! It really has been very rewarding." - NNV Volunteer
Northwest Neighbors Village was founded in 2009 and is proud to have celebrated our 15th anniversary last year. Our mission is to enable older adults to thrive as they age in our community by offering a robust network of resources, social opportunities, and practical support.
