Volunteers are the heart of our Village and this week we will celebrate our wonderful volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.
Every day, Village volunteers are providing our members with the support and confidence to live well in our community. None of our work would be possible without the dedicated work of our 140 caring volunteers who help our members:
"To me, it is not just a ride, but a warm, real, personal connection to another human."
"I am not able to drive or walk without the use of a walker. The ability to request rides for various appointments has been wonderful. Not only does it increase my independence; it has enabled me to meet many new people which enriches my life and neighborhood. Drivers never fail to be fun and interesting; the conversation is often as important as the trip."
"A volunteer came over and set up the rollator today. He was very gracious and insisted it was an easy task but I was impressed by the speed with which he completed the job. We really have talented people at NNV!"
We extend our sincerest thanks to all of our volunteers for building a caring community where all older adults can thrive.
Not a volunteer yet? There's no time like the present to become an NNV volunteer. Enjoy the personal reward of helping others in your community. Visit our website to learn more about our volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you at our next Volunteer Orientation, scheduled for May 13th at 1 pm.
Through a centrally-coordinated, local network of screened volunteers and vetted professional providers, Northwest Neighbors Village offers its members transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping assistance, home repairs and handyman help, computer and technology assistance, access to social and cultural activities and more.
